INDIA!!

Hey everybody sorry it took so long but the past four days I have been in India has been so crazy and it is Saturday here now so I have the day off. Alright let's start with Sunday Oct. 11

Sunday was a really hard day for me. The big realization that I was leaving my home really hit me hard and traveling alone can get very lonely after so many hours of just sitting around. Though in my heart I knew I had the Lord with me and he protected me the whole way through and put people in my path that helped ease my pain of missing home. Once I arrived in India I had to go outside looking for Biak, for he was the one picking me up. My first 8 hours in Delhi was a weird sensation, everything is so new to me and the way things Indians do what they do is a strange custom I'm slowing getting used to. But I do have to say God truely prepared me for being here in India, yes everything is a shock but not in a bad way I feel at peace and I know that this is where God wants me to be. Here is a list of observations I have made in the past four days in India

1. Get used to the honking now because it will never end

2. Lines on the roads really don't mean anything( I think they are just decorations)

3. In the city there is no such thing as a personal bubble

4. Back home we put up fishing line around our garden to keep the deers from eating it... in India they fire a shot gun to keep the monkeys away from eating their garden

5. The railroad and roads is your own personal bathroom/garbage can

6. No matter how full the car might be there is still room for more

7. "Holy Cow" is a literal term( there are so many!!)

8. 80 degrees means hot for me and cold to everyone else

9. No matter what I do I will always stick out

I'm having so much fun here. All the students are very nice and patient with me. Out in the city my roomate Lydia always keeps an eye out for me she holds my hand helps me out when I do not understand what we are doing. I have so much to learn, but loving it here. I know that being here God will show me so much and teach me many things that will only bring me closer to him. I will write again soon.

Blessings,

Pristine

  2. Pristine, I found your blog! Will keep following as you go. You'll have fun looking back, once you're an old hand at being there, and seeing how new and amazing things were when you first arrived. Culture shock! (And then you'll get it when you get back to the harbor at the end of your year too.)

    Blessings, Rebecca
